Homecoming

This painting is full of sound. The sound I choose to focus on is the sound of joy. The shouts of joy at a father finally getting to once again embrace his child; whose childhood he’s missed so much of. The squeals of joy of a young child reunited with her papa. The sobs of joy of a wife knowing her soldier-husband has made it home safely after years of war. Though many may not consider the hissing, whining, clanking sounds of a steam locomotive to be joyous sounds, my father always did, as it was one of those that brought him back to his family from war.
