Art Gallery Scams To Look Out For
Make sure you don’t fall for predatory art fairs. Always check the fine print before you get too excited. A while ago, I kept getting emails from Adora gallery telling me how amazing my work was and how much they wanted to represent me. Before I got excited, I navigated through their website and find the “services” they offer artists, which included a 3ft X 3ft section on their wall for $2000. Adora gallery is no longer bothering because it seems they are no longer in business. As soon as they disappeared, I started getting emails from Clio Art Fair. Which has similar “Artist Services” of $320.00 per foot. I just want you to be careful. RARELY (and I mean RARELY) will a gallery approach you, it is always the other way around. Also, there are NO artist service fees. Please read the fine print.
